Weather Factors effect Solar Energy System

Weather Factors effect Solar Energy System

Weather factors on solar energy system and how to deal with?

First, it is necessary to choose high-quality PV panels, as they are the part that is always faced weather factors. The quality of the glass and the quality of insulation are very important, so we recommend choosing well-known and credible manufacturers.

Temperatures

High temperatures affect performance of PV panels. Hot and sunny days are not suitable as some people think. Rather, the best times for PV panels are cold and sunny. Some countries with high temperatures use a plate-directed ventilation system.

Clouds

Although sunlight is the most important energy resource in solar energy systems and therefore clouds affect system’s performance, it depends on the density of these clouds. PV panels can generate energy at a significant rate on a cloudy day when the clouds are not dense and pass through them solar rays.

Wind

Wind does not affect the operation of PV panels, but on the contrary, it works to move warm or hot air onto the surface of panel. PV panels are also designed to withstand winds of 90 miles per hour, but there are some guidelines to keep PV panels safe from vandalism during installation.

Ensure that panels are replaced correctly and in accordance with safety regulations approved by municipality or city committee

Install wind barriers in areas with high winds to reduce the wind load on the panels

The distance between two PV panels must not be less than 20 cm for two reasons:

1- Allow the painting frame to contract and expand according to the cold or heat of the weather

2- Allow the wind to pass so as not to increase the surface resistance of the panels to strong winds

Snow

Snow does not affect PV panels, but a thick layer of it is enough to prevent sunlight from reaching the cells and thus stop panels from working. It is enough to remove it gently and make sure that the insulation inside the panel frame is not damaged and does not cause moisture or water to leak.

Lightning

There is no doubt that a lightning bolt leads to the destruction of the entire solar system if it reaches its proximity. Therefore, methods of preventing lightning strikes in high towers are recommended, such as grounding or lightning rods designed to protect electronic equipment.

Finally, we wish everyone safety
