Factors Effect PV Panels

Factors Effect PV Panels

What are the factors affecting the performance of solar panels?

- Snow or dust:
The formation of a layer of snow or frost, or even dust, leads to a decline in energy production from the panels due to preventing sunlight from reaching the photovoltaic cells, so it is recommended to remove any material that forms on the panels and clean them gently at least twice a year.

- Poor insulation:
The leakage of water or moisture inside the solar panels greatly reduces the efficiency of energy production, especially in areas with high humidity, so panels of high quality must be chosen.

-    temperature:
The photovoltaic cells from which the solar panel is made are very sensitive to high temperature, as they lose their properties in generating electrical energy, as well as the voltage decreases.
Solar panel performance decreases by 18 percent at 60°C and solar panel lifespan is affected in hot regions.
